a. Purpose. The privacy and protection of the information consumers provide to GPmicro (the “Company”) is extremely important, and the Company takes its responsibilities regarding the privacy and protection of such information very seriously. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to describe the manner in which the Company handles information that is obtained when consumers access, provide information via, or otherwise use the Company’s Internet web site (the “Web Site”).
b. Acceptance of Policy. By accessing, providing information via, or otherwise using the Web Site, you (“User”) hereby understand, acknowledge and expressly agree that the Company shall monitor, collect, store, use, or otherwise handle all information obtained in connection with consumers’ access to, use of, or provision of information via the Web Site (“User Information”) in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
c. Web Site Monitoring; Information Collection and Storage. The Company shall have the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, to the maximum extent permissible by law, all User access to and use of the Web Site, as well as any User Information obtained by the Company. The Company shall also have the right, but shall not be obligated, to collect and store, to the maximum extent permitted by law, all User Information, including without limitation: (i) any personally identifying information User provides in connection with User’s access to or use of the Web Site, including without limitation User’s name, street address, email address, and phone number; and (ii) any information obtained as a result of User’s access to or use of the Web Site, including without limitation the name of the domain and host from which User accesses the Internet; the Internet protocol address of the computer User is using; User’s browser software and operating system information; the date and time User accesses the Web Site; and the Internet address of the web site from which User linked to the Web Site. In accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, when a visitor files a complaint online and indicates an age under thirteen, no personally identifying information is collected in conjunction with such submission. The Company shall monitor, collect and store User Information for the use and benefit of the Company and not for the use of third parties unrelated to the Company (“Third Parties”).
d. Information Use and Disclosure. The Company shall have the right, but not the obligation, to use any User Information collected and/or stored by the Company for purposes such as personalization and verification, as well as any other purpose permitted by law. Notwithstanding the foregoing, except as otherwise required by law, the Company shall not disclose User Information to Third Parties or use “cookies” to collect or store User Information for Third Parties.
e. Information Security. To minimize the risk of unauthorized interception, collection, storage, disclosure or other use of User Information by Third Parties, the Company has implemented and adheres to stringent information security policies and procedures, including without limitation: (1) the offering by the Company of the use of server software to encrypt User Information at the time such User Information is input by User and before such User Information is sent to the Company; (2) the implementation and maintenance of various information storage protocols; (3) the limitation of Company employee access to User Information; (4) the maintenance and enforcement of a Company employee code of conduct, which includes standards to protect User Information; (5) the maintenance of policies and procedures to maximize the physical security of Company workplaces and records; and (6) the maintenance of a specially designed database for all User Information. All such information security policies and procedures meet or exceed federal standards regarding the protection of User Information; however, notwithstanding the foregoing, no data transmission over the Internet is one hundred percent secure. Therefore, User understands, acknowledges and expressly agrees that the Company cannot warrant or ensure the security of any information obtained in relation to or as a result of User’s access to or use of the Web Site. User’s access to and use of the Web Site, including submission of User Information, shall be at User’s sole risk.
